We will be wrapping up talk about the book sale & talk about future plans.
And as determined in the last meeting, Friends voted to keep the current officers for another year.

November Meeting
Friends held their November meeting yesterday @ 2pm in the Kansas Room.
Old business was the book sale and the Treasurer reported the amount made by the sale & by dues collected.
New business was the children's librarian Dayna Ball requested money to pay for Santa & refreshments for the Christmas party in December.
Next meeting is in February on the 7th at 2pm.

Book Sale Starts Saturday!

Book Sale is this week! Friends exclusive day is Saturday from 1 to 3:30. The Book Sale opens to the general public Sunday until Wednesday.

Tuesday the 26th at 9 am we have to opportunity to box up books from Persnickety's. They have graciously donated their left over stock of books to the book sale.

Amanda Moran-Jones talked about how the Summer Library Program was a success and thanked the Friends for their contribution to that. She also asked for monetary help towards ZooBoo as well as toward her program, Baby and Me. The Friends motioned and seconded agreeing to help.

Hello! I am Erin Ferguson and I will be taking over for Cara as new Friends' Library liaison. I am excited to be part of the Great Bend community and look forwards to working with you all! Come to the next meeting on August 7 at 6:30 to meet me.

March 2014 Meeting Cancelled
Well...another storm is heading to Kansas! The Friends' meeting scheduled for March 2nd has been cancelled. Please join us for the Sunday, April 6th meeting at 2pm in the library's lower level meeting room. This will be our Annual Meeting with election of officers...and we need officers! We will also be finalizing National Library Week plans for the week of April 13th.
Bookstore After Hours Event
The Friends' Bookstore will have an additional bookcase of books for sale on Saturday, November 30th during the library's After Hours event (following the parade downtown-roughly 5:30pm). There will be many very nice and clean gently used books - great for stocking stuffers this holiday! Books are priced $3 for a hardback and $1 for a paperback.
Stop by the library to shop as well as enjoy some refreshments (sponsored by the Friends)! The library will also be showing Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas and the Children's Department will be having Christmas Bingo. We hope you can stop in!
